Allied Professionals
The need SFPE recognizes that many members of the fire safety community do not qualify for Professional Member or Associate grade in SFPE but are interested in the fire protection engineering information that SFPE and its chapters have to offer. These professionals come from all parts of the fire safety community - building officials, architects, the fire service, and the manufacturing community. Many of SFPE's chapters have a large mailing list of individuals who fall into this category.
What is the Allied Professional program? SFPE's Board of Directors created the program in the year 2000 to provide the opportunity to interact with the fire protection engineering community without membership in SFPE. The program is not a membership category, but rather a special program established to meet the needs of those with whom the engineering community works on a daily basis.
Benefits of the Allied Professional program
- Eligibility to join SFPE local chapters
- Fire Protection Engineering magazine
- SFPE's Electronic newsletter SFPE UPDATE
Who can participate in the program?
All those who do not qualfy for SFPE Professional Member or Associate Grade but wish to formally interact with SFPE and its Chapters may join the SFPE Allied Professional group. The annual fee to participate in the SFPE Allied Professional group is one-half the current SFPE membership dues.
The SFPE Board of Directors has approved a program to rebate $20.00 to the local chapter for each new member of the Allied Professional Program.
