Prof. Quintiere's  Guise Medal Lecture

Professor Jim Quintiere was honored by the Foundation for his many contributions to the Heritage of fire protection engineering with this year's Arthur B. Guise Medal. His Guise Medal lecture, presented at the SFPE Annual Meeting last month, is available for download. Please click on PODCAST to download the lecture audio and visuals.

Please thank Prof Quintiere-for his contribution and listen to the podcast of his Guise Medal lecture on the SFPE website for information concerning evolution of the science of fire protection engineering that is not available anywhere else. Follow the link for more information.

In the Guise Medal lecture contained in the podcast, Prof Quintiere describes the origin of many of his accomplishments as well as the contributions of his mentors, peers and predecessors to the science of the profession. These contributions are the body of knowledge that sets fire protection engineering apart form other engineering disciplines and enables us to enjoy our profession and careers.

Recognizing achievements and documenting the Heritage of fire protection engineering is a vital role of the Foundation. Without support of our members and chapters, the Foundation would not be able to fulfill this vital role. Please remember to contribute to the Foundation when renewing your annual SFPE dues or when you are considering charitable contributions to professional organizations. You may contribute to the Foundation through the SFPE web site at any time.

If you have questions or comments concerning the Foundation, please contact me at foundation@sfpe.org.
